During Littledata’s install process, you will be prompted to disable the Shopify tracker.
If our audit detects that the original Shopify tracking is still active, follow this guide to remove it.
Please follow the steps described there, and delete the UA from your Google Analytics field in Shopify > Preferences. Keep in mind that this is a crucial step for the install:
If you don’t delete the UA from the specified field, our app will identify that the change has not been made and fire the following error, which will prevent the install:
However, if you followed all the above mentioned steps and still receive the error message, please make sure you check the following things:
- Make sure you don’t have any scripts containing the Tracking ID (UA) you’re trying to go live on. This will create a conflict with our app and the aforementioned error will be triggered.
- If you identify the same UA anywhere in your scripts, please make sure to remove it until the install is finished.
Once the UA is removed from the scripts as well as the Shopify GA field, you should be able to proceed with the install without further issues, and re-add the UA in the scripts once the install is finished.
Note: Please make sure that Enhanced E-commerce and pageviews that are sent through gtag are disabled, otherwise that will create a conflict with our tracking.
